Jerome Awarded $28,000 for Parking Improvements

The Town of Jerome has been awarded $28,000 by the Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold Foundation for parking improvements. It will help fund the installation of curb and gutter along the parking area on Main Street across from the shops, as well as a concrete island at the parking area on Hull Avenue.

Curb and gutter along the Main Street parking area will greatly improve the safety and aesthetic appearance of the parking spaces, and channel drainage to stop erosion that has been taking place. It will also serve as a barrier to prevent vehicles from traveling down the hillside.

The concrete island on Hull Avenue will more effectively delineate the parking spaces there, enhance their usability and improve pedestrian access.

The funds were awarded as part of the Foundation’s Social Investment program, and are expected to be received during March.
