The Old Book Room
** DUE TO COVID-19, THE OLD BOOK ROOM IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.**
The Old Book Room extends the library’s reach back into Jerome’s past. Located on the third floor of Town Hall, the Old Book Room preserves vintage volumes of every classification dating back to the 1800s, many of them with beautiful illustrations by well-known artists. We also have a wonderful collection of classic children’s books, including textbooks from the room’s early 20th century grammar school days. Our “Southwest Wall” offers a unique perspective on Jerome history, featuring maps, newspaper and magazine articles, period photographs, yearbooks, posters, surveys, mining manuals, local art and publications. Native American books and items are also on display along with a large section devoted to Arizona’s legacy, both real and imagined.
